Roosevelt? If so the date of her mothers death is December 7th, 1892.
No. That was Abraham Lincoln: It was Franklin Delano Roosevelt that fixed the date as the fourth Thursday in November: Anecdotally, my grandfather, a Navy cook, said that the first "traditional" (North Eastern-New England) Thanksgiving dinner he ever cooked was on Nov 26, 1941, due to Eleanor Roosevelt's efforts to provide such to all the military. Have never been able to verify this.
Why not? Franklin Roosevelt did, and he married her. He seems to have turned out ok. Eleanor was a cousin, far enough removed so that there was no obstacle.
Louis and Eleanor had their first date at a local café in London. They enjoyed a cozy atmosphere while sharing stories over coffee. The setting allowed them to connect and get to know each other better, setting the tone for their budding romance.
