To further elucidate the above answer: on March 19, 1944, Germany invaded Hungary to install a pro-nazi puppet government. The invasion was in response to Hungary's attempt to get out of the war by withdrawing its troops from the Eastern Front.

∙ 14y agoWell, the fact is that Hungary did not get invaded by Germany. It was instead, an ally of the German forces.
It was forced to join the Axis powers because it depended very much on Germany on its trade to support its economy. Hence, it had to support the Germans in order to survive.
