The Hudson River
The vast majority of the Hudson River is bordered by New York State both on its east and west shores. Only at the very mouth of the river, where it empties into New York Harbor and eventually into the Atlantic Ocean, does a little part of New Jersey border the river, only on it's western shore.
Albany is located in upstate New York and is the state's capital. The city is located on the west bank of the Hudson river. The river separates Albany from the city of Troy.
