They first made their appearance in the Battle of Leyte Gulf in October of '44.

For the USMC it was Iwo Jima. For the US Army & US Navy it was Okinawa. The kamikazes did most of the damage at Okinawa.
Kamikazes were not German, but in fact Japanese. Japanese kamikazes were suicide pilots in WWII who purposefully crashed thir planes full of bombs as a way of combat.
