Jesus would have used the psalms throughout worship in the synagogue.

However, his most famous and poignant use of the psalms is when he quoted Psalm 22 verse 1 as he died on the Cross:

"My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?"

spoken as God the Father laid the sins of the world on him and the Father had to look away from Christ for the first time as the sin of humankind was laid upon him.
