I would start my search at Numrich gun parts corp. They may be found on the web.
Brophy's book on Marlin Firearms history would be the place to start. I own a model 995, have a copy of the manual.
go to: Marlinfirearms.com and pose the question to them
First lets start with the 336RC.This stands for the marlin model number(336),The letters RC stand for the words(Regular Carbine). The numbers 30-30 stand for the caliber of your marlin rifle,30caliber,and the second stood for 30grains of black powder. This was how the original load back in 1894 was measured. The F prefix to your marlin model 336 regular carbine indicates that it was made in the year 1949.I hope this helps.
We need a model to start research. You should contact customer service at Remington (who now owns Marlin)
Gun Trader's Guide says Model 39 Carbine from 1963-67 and lever action from 1922-38. There are also 39A, 39AS, 39M and a few others listed. Hope this helps.
These were offered when the remingtom model 700 first appeared in 1962.
I would start at numrich gun parts corp, they are on the net, also try E-bay.
Marlin has used both model, and serial numbers since they made their first handguns in 1870. However, this did not always include .22 rifles, as they were not always required to have a serial number, until 1968. Many Marlin .22 rifles from the post WWII to 1968 time were not serial numbered. Model numbers were always used, but some models were not marked with the model number. The model 1881, 1888, and 1889 Marlins were not marked with the model, but they were cataloged as these models.
in .22 cal it was 1934 and stopped making in 1963
