The now defunct ( since l97l) Palisades Amusement Park straddled the borders of the towns of Cliffside Park ( south end) and Fort Lee ( Northern end). There is also a town, unrelated, callee Palisades Park which still is extant.
Sorry, Oregon is lame when it comes to amusement parks, we have none. In Salem (about 50 miles south of Portland) there is a weak "amusement park" with two waterslides and a couple rides for little kids. It is called Thrillville and can probably be googled. But if you are planning a trip to Oregon in hopes of an amusement park, plan something else. However, at the end of May-first part of June, the Rose Festival comes to Portland. It is a carnival full of rides, games and naval ships. It is cleaner than most carnivals and is suprizingly fun.
