IN 2006, the International Astronomical Union voted that a planet must meet three qualifications.
1. It must orbit the Sun, not another body.
2. It must be massive enough to have been crushed into a spherical shape by its own gravity.
3. It must have "cleared the vicinity of its orbit".
Pluto meets the first two criteria, but because there are many other (possibly millions of other) bodies in the Kuiper Belt of assorted mass and debris beyond Neptune, Pluto has not "cleared its orbit" of other bodies. Like Ceres in the Asteroid Belt, Pluto was demoted to "dwarf planet" status.
This third requirement is fairly controversial, as astronomy goes, and the next IAU convention may revise it.
Pluto is still a planet but it is now considered a dwarf planet. Pluto's re-categorization as a dwarf planet was voted upon by a panel from The International Astronomical Union, the governing body in charge of naming space objects.
it didnt have all the elements its ment to have and its to small ;)
None. There are no "priveleges as a planet" to be stripped. And an inanimate object wouldn't miss them anyway. Pluto was recently stripped of its title as a planet. But it didn't lose any priveleges because of it.
No-one knows.
People had mixed reactions to the International Astronomical Union's decision to reclassify Pluto as a "dwarf planet" in 2006. Some agreed with the scientific reasons behind the decision, while others, including the general public, were nostalgic and upset to see Pluto lose its status as the ninth planet in our solar system. The decision sparked debates and discussions within both the scientific community and the public.
oh wow. you people don't know? pluto ALREADY left it's orbit last year!(2012) next time watch the NEWS.
Proper diet and exercise.
No that is impossible. Gravity is related to mass, so while a planet still has mass it still has gravity.
There is no safe way to lose weight except proper exercise and a sligt reduction in calorie intake. You should only lose 1-2 pounds a week and have a proper diet with nutrients and fiber.
A proper balanced diet and appropriate exercise
you need to lose weight with a proper diet and excersise
Space does not "lose" oxygen as it is a vacuum. Oxygen is present in the Earth's atmosphere, but it becomes extremely sparse as you move away from the planet. The lack of oxygen in space can make it uninhabitable for humans without proper life support systems.
