We do not know when Mary died or if she died. Some believe that when her days on Earth were over, she was assumed - body and soul - into Heaven. Others believe that she did die and then, 3 days later, her body was taken into Heaven. Roman Catholic teachings leave open either possibility. We do know that she was not subjected to corruption and that her body did not have to wait for the end of time to be reunited with her soul as do the other saints.

The Doctrine of the Assumption states that Mary was assumed into heaven, body and soul. However, it does not state that she was assumed alive or died and her body assumed into heaven later. One of the apocryphal (non canonical) scriptures states that she died and when they went back to the tomb 3 days later, the body was gone and only the burial cloths remained. According to the Vatican, either explanation is acceptable and not excluded by the doctrine. We know that Mary had two tombs, one near Jerusalem and the other near Ephesus, or, at least, these are claimed to be her tombs. Whether either was the actual tomb or whether either was ever used is not known.

Mary was assumed, meaning she was taken into Heaven. Jesus ascended, meaning he rose into Heaven by his own power.

The date of her passing is not recorded.

She didn't die. She was assumed Body & soul into Heaven, just like the Prophets Elijah & Enoch.

We have no dates but Mary was probably born about 15 BC and died sometime in the second half of the first century AD.

Mary, the mother of Jesus, the Scriptures do not mention how, where, or when she died. All we know is that when she ended her life, she was assumed into heaven, body and soul.
