You need to supply a little more information in the question. At his death? At the beginning of his ministry?
How old was Paul the Apostle when he died?
We learn from The Bible that Paul was a young man when he started his ministry.
Acts 7:58
New International Version 1984
dragged him out of the city and began to stone him. Meanwhile, the witnesses laid their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul.
At his death:
yet I appeal to you on the basis of love. I then, as Paul-an old man and now also a prisoner of Christ Jesus-
Philemon 1:8-10 (in Context) Philemon 1 (Whole Chapter)
So we can see he was young at the stoning and young at the time of the writing of Philemon and this was not the last letter Paul wrote. The last letter was the second letter to Timothy.
Note: The most important question and answer is Yes! Jesus Christ is Lord and alive and the Holy Spirit is still working to this very moment even until the end of the age. Come Lord Jesus!
Another answer from our communityThe actual age of Paul is not mentioned in the bible, but according to tradition he was considered an old man at the time of his death. If we assume he was born sometime quite early in the first century and died about the year 64-67 AD, he would have been in his sixties when he died in Rome.
Answer
We do not know when Paul was born, nor when or where he died. Clement of Rome, writing around 95 CE (1 Clement) seems to have believed Paul went to the west (Spain) and spent his final years there.
Paul was beheaded in Rome about 66-67AD. As his birthdate is unknown we don't know exactly how old he was when he died, but he was probably born about the same time as Christ, so this would make him 65-70 when he died.
The Scripture doesn't say but a tradition says he was born circa 3 A.D. in Tartus as Saul but because the family lived in a Roman society, they called him Paul as well.
Saul began his learning under his mother until 5 years of age and then his Pharisee father until 10 years of age. He was sent to Jerusalem to study under Gamaliel in his school. Gamaliel was the most famous Rabbi at this time.
As with his birth, the Bible does not speak to the age or death of Paul. Tradition again has it occurring between circa 64 - 67 A.D.. That would make him in his early to mid 60s at the time of his death - by beheading.
An early Church bishop named Clement suggested that Paul was never executed but left Rome and finally went to Spain. No one is sure though.
A second-century Christian tradition is that he was executed in Rome around 64-65 CE on the orders of Emperor Nero. However, Acts of the Apostles says that Paul was released from two years of house arrest, apparently around 62-63 CE, indicating that Nero could find no wrong with him. It seems unlikely that Paul would have stayed in Rome waiting a further two years to be executed, and unlikely that Nero would have overturned an earlier decision in Paul's favour.
Clement of Rome, writing around 95 CE (1 Clement) says that Paul travelled to the farthest reaches of the west (Spain) and gave his testimony to ruler there, presumably in an attempt to convert the rulers and therefore the tribes they ruled. First Clement suggests that Paul eventually died in Spain, perhaps of old age.
The second-century pope, Anicetus (156-166) claimed to have found the very tombs of Peter and Paul in Rome, allowing him to claim to speak with the authority of the two greatest apostles. However, Clement of Rome (1 Clement, c. 95 CE), writing general terms of the lives of Peter and Paul, did not seem to know that either had been executed in Rome, although presumably he should have known of these events if they had occurred in Rome. He seems to have believed that Paul eventually travelled to Spain.
We do not really know when or where Saint Paul died.
We do not know when Paul was born or how old he was when he commenced his Christian ministry. We do not even know when he died or in what circumstances, although later Christian tradition holds that he was martyred in the 60s CE. Without any of this information, we do not really know how old Paul was when he died.
Paul is thought to have been martyred sometime between the years AD64 and AD67.
