That's when Premier Parks purchased SeaWorld of Ohio, merged it with their amusement park across the lake (formerly Geauga Lake Amusement Park), and marketed the two parks combined as "Six Flags Worlds of Adventure". Facing financial troubles, Premier Parks sold the complex to Cedar Fair, which operates Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, Ohio, in 2004. Cedar Fair shut down the marine portion of the park, ending 34 years of family entertainment at the Ohio attraction.
