Bomb planted in a conference room at the"Wolf's Lair," the Fuhrer's retreat headquarters in Rastenberg, East Prussia. In Sept 1944, a special Wound Badge was issued to those who survived this blast and it has the date embossed on the badge, known as Verwundeten-Abzeichen 20 Juli 1944.

In July 1944, an attempt on Hitler's life was made, at Rastenberg. It was the third known attempt to kill him. The bomb, while it did go off, did not kill him.
