After being discovered, the hardest part for Anne Frank was being separated from her family and eventually dying in a concentration camp. She was taken from her hiding place and was unable to continue writing in her diary, which had been a source of comfort and solace for her during her time in hiding.
After the arrest, one of the helpers, Miep Gies, found the diary and several papers Anne Frank wrote on all scattered on the floor. She saved them, thinking Anne would come back and when she didn't, she gave them to Otto Frank, her father.
Anne Frank died in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in March 1945.
