Yes, there is/was a cure. The Bubonic Plague is still around today, however it is easily cured with antibiotics. When they discovered antibiotics, the plague numbers vastly decreased. =) So don't worry about it coming back, haha.
Bubonic Plague (the "Black Death") didn't go anywhere - it still exists. and occurs from time to time in underdeveloped countries. But improved sanitation, better living conditions, and especially antibiotics reduced it from a scourge on the world, to a medical curiosity, that is easily treatable.
It never did. We discovered the cure for it, so it's not killing thousands of people, but it never "disappeared".
To be cured from the Bubonic Plague you can use antibiodics. In the previous bubonic plagues when it was a plague there was no cure.
