An average mechanic can not change a car from being a left hand driver to a right hand driver. It takes a complete reworking of the system and body of the car. It would be easier to purchase the correct side instead of trying to change it.
I think Right hand drive, Electric lighting swith-on positions or changes in English language were part of the reactions to the colonial rule in America- that is not to do what the colonisers used to do.
