The construction of the new bypass road to the Hoover Dam, known as the Hoover Dam Bypass or the Mike O'Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge, began in 2005 and was completed in 2010. The project took approximately five years to finish. The bridge was officially opened to traffic on October 19, 2010.
