When did doctors first use xrays?

X-Rays were first noticed and observed by Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen in 1895. A few days after his discovery, he used x-rays to take a picture of his wife's hand. He was surprised when it revealed her bones.

It turned out that the doctor was used to seeing cadavers that were lying down, so he learned anatomy by seeing internal organs higher than if the person was standing because gravity naturally brings them lower.
