Believe it or not: there is NO law against being a pedophile!! It is against the law, however, to commit any type of sexual acts on children, which, in itself, doesn't constitute pedophilia. A person who has a psycholsexual preference for children, particularly prepubescent ones (children who have not yet undergone puberty), are known as pedophiles. But people who commit sex offenses against children are known as child sex offenders or sexual predators. You see, there is no law against having certain feelings or preferences. For example, right now I could say that I feel like killing someone, and even if I called 911 and said so, they can't take me to jail just because I said that. If I do kill someone, that's a different story.
