Arthur pulled the sword in the stone for Sir Kay because Arthur could not retrieve Kay's sword that he had forgotten in the haste of the tournement. Arthur did not want to come back empty handed so he searched for a sword that his brother could use until he came to the on in the anvil.
He pulled the sword out of the stone. He was already supposed to be King, but the sword was just a way so that he could be found. There's a whole story about how Arthur is King Uther's son and was taken away to be raised in secret.......blah, blah, blah. So, basically sword in the stone.
Excalibur was not the sword in the stone. Excalibur was given to King Arthur by the Lady in the Lake. The sword in the stone was Caledfwlch the sword of Uther Pendragon, Arthur's father. For your other Question, Clarent was a ceremonial sword used in the knighting process by Arthur's father, Uther,. Clarent was later stolen from Arthur by his half-sisters son Mordred where it was used to mortally would Arthur in the Battle of Camlann.

Depending on what you mean by "come out", we first see him in episode 35, "The true owner of the great sword", just after where we first meet Rin.
Yes it does! There used to be a little show going on near the sword in the stone where Merlin would choose a kid in the audience and the kid would pull it out! Sadly, the show is no longer done and nobody knows how the guy who played Merlin go the stone to pop out. If any cast members out there that knows how it's done please post it here!

King Arthur was given the sword Excalibur as a symbol of his rightful sovereignty over Britain. According to legend, he pulled the sword from a stone, proving his divine right to rule and his exceptional worthiness as a leader. The sword also represents Arthur's connection to the mystical realm and the responsibilities that come with being a king. Ultimately, Excalibur embodies the ideals of honor, bravery, and chivalry associated with Arthurian legend.
