I suppose that you can say that the Church began to baptize before it even began: with John the Baptist. "John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins" (Mark 1:4). He proclaimed that "I have baptized you with water; but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit" (Mark 1:8). John then proceeded to baptize Jesus Himself, the very founder of Christianity. In Acts 2:37-42, it talks about the first converts to Christianity. It says "So those who received [Peter's] word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls" (Acts 2:41). What John said was also true, as when we are baptized we receive the Holy Spirit. "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit" (Acts 2:38). This is seen in a very visible way in the New Testament throughout all of the baptism testimonies. For example, in Acts 19:1-7: "While Apol'los was at Corinth, Paul passed through the upper country and came to Ephesus. There he found some disciples. And he said to them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" And they said, "No, we have never even heard that there is a Holy Spirit."

And he said, "Into what then were you baptized?" They said, "Into John's baptism."

And Paul said, "John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in the one who was to come after him, that is, Jesus." On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them; and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.

There were about twelve of them in all. "

This has been the practice of the Catholic Church ever since the Great Commision in The Bible:

"Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. And when they saw him, they worshiped him: but some doubted. And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen."

(Matthew 28:16-20)

Can a confirmed and baptized Anglican receive Holy Communion in a Catholic Church?

A n Anglican baptised in the traditional fashion and manner is already a Catholic. Every one if baptised with water in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost becomes a member of Christ and a son of God.If however, Catholic is a short cut for Roman Catholic, it is probable that the Roman Authorities will demand a,' conditional baptism', just in case!Roman Catholic AnswerAny Christian baptized "in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit (Ghost), using water, with the intention to do what the Church does (when baptizing, in other words "with the intention to baptize the person") is considered validly baptized. Anyone can administer this sacrament in an emergency - even a non-baptized person. Thus, Anglican baptism is exactly the same baptism anyone else would receive, and such a person can be confirmed in the Catholic Church after completing RCIA classes and making a profession of faith.

The role of the Catholic Church in Latin America was to?

Roman Catholic AnswerThe role of the Catholic Church has been the same in every country, in every century. It is the Mystical Body of Christ, and its sole role is to bring Our Blessed Lord to the people and the people to God. See St. Matthew 28:18-20:And Jesus coming, spoke to them, saying: All power is given to me in heaven and in earth. Going therefore, teach ye all nations; baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the son, and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world.

Why was it so important to the Catholic Church to convert the people of Europe to Christianity?

The reason the Church thought it important to converted the people of Europe is the same today as it has always been; the Church is following Christ's command: "Going therefore, teach ye all nations; baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost (Matthew 28:19). The Church must constantly deliver the message of salvation to each generation in all countries lest a soul be lost and suffer the pains of Hell. If Christ told his Apostles to do something they did it. The Church continues to follow His commands and carries that mission on in the world today has did the Apostles.

Why does the church teach baptism and confirmation?

It is excited to share all of the blessings that Jesus established to cleanse and strengthen all those who believe in him. The Church, in loving and humble obedience, teaches what Christ taught and does what he told it to do. "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." "Receive the Holy Ghost!"

Is the quote Father Son and Holy Spirit an addition in the Bible?

No. In the King James version * Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: The term "Holy Ghost" gave way in the middle of the twentieth century to the expression "holy Spirit".
