An unidentified person gave a tip to the Getstapo and the Frank family and all other members living in the annex were captured on August 4, 1944. They were held as criminals because they ignored the orders to report to camp two years ago and because they were hiding. From there, they were all sent to various concentration camps and forced to endure extreme manual labor. All members of the annex except for Otto Frank were killed in the camps.
