I got that the Grand Canyon started forming 60-70 million years ago. Correct me if I'm wrong, but The Grand Canyon started forming about 1.7 billion years ago. The Grand Canyon of Arizona was formed near 6 million years ago by the Colorado River.

The Pueblo people considered the Grand Canyon ("Ongtupqa" in Hopi language) a holy site and made pilgrimages to it. The first European known to have viewed the Grand Canyon was García López de Cárdenas from Spain, who arrived in 1540
