In Korean war, Truman did not give gun power for South Korea because he thought Korea as not trustful enough to lend their power. But Stalin(Maybe he was the leader back then...) lent their heavy artilleries to North Korea. Later, there was a call to US and whole UN groups except North Korea came to make the decision and the result was to send troops to help South Korea
After the Nationalist party came into power, apartheid was established. Also, segregation was officially established as a government policy.
On June 25, 1950 at 11:00 a.m. Kim Il Sung, Premier of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, declared war on South Korea. This declaration of war came 7 hours after North Korean forces began the invasion of South Korea. The US had, for the most part, left Korea after assisting in the establishment of a democratic government south of the 38th parallel. There were no major US units in Korea at the time the invasion began.
South Korea had almost got the whole peninsula from the help of U.S, but the Chinese were concerned because N.K. were coming in from the border, so they came in the war.
The Korean War was due to the Invasion of South Korea by North Korea. Later in this war, the Chinese came to the aid of North Korea.

The Korean war was actually a draw. Basically the war went like this: North Korea (communist) invaded South Korea (democratic) and almost won so the US came in to help South Korea Then the US and South Korea then almost won the war so China interceeded on behalf of North Korea and drove the US and South Korea back to the 38th parellel. There the war stalled out for awhile and eventually a peace treaty was signed between the US and China, not by either Korea. Technically North and South Korea are still at war, it just isn't a shooting war.
