Roosevelt got involved in WW2 by having Congress pass the Lend Lease Act. The Lend Lease Act allowed the president to aid ANY country considered "vital" to US security and interests. This allowed Roosevelt to send supplies, weapons, vehicles, food and anything else to countries such as Britain and Franch. Eventually the US aids Joseph Stalin and the Soviet Union. It was called the Lend Lease act because in return for supplies, the countries leased plots of land to the US. This Act allowed us to remain out of conflict but still a major contributor to the Allied Powers.
