People who had access is young boys they learned how to be scribes. ;-)
The pyramids were tombs. However, they didn't do a great job of protecting the king's body from tomb robbers, because the pyramids were very visible tombs! They were robbed, so the kings who came after them realised that it was better to build a hidden tomb.
the wealthy usually ate a big variety of meat including, geese, duck, crane, fowl, mutton, pork, hyena, pigeons, herons, pelicans. but sea food was avoided because of religious stigma. and ate a bunch of fruit . and drank three different kinds of wine
The ancient Egyptians believed that after death, individuals went to the Hall of Maat, where they faced judgment. In this hall, the heart of the deceased was weighed against the feather of Maat, the goddess of truth and justice. If the heart was lighter than the feather, the person was deemed worthy and allowed to enter the afterlife; if heavier, they faced annihilation by the devourer, a creature known as Ammit. This judgment determined their fate in the afterlife.
