The two Twin Towers of the old World Trade Center were called the North Tower, and the South Tower.
The South Tower collapsed at 09:59 AM and the North Tower at 10:28 AM.
It was 1362ft, 6ft shorter than the North tower.
The south tower was hit at a much lower spot and the weight above it caused it to collapse.
Work began in august 1966, the North Tower (1) was completed in December 1970 and the South Tower (2) was finished in July 1971.
The North Tower (1 World Trade Center) was slightly taller than the South Tower (2 World Trade Center). The roof of the North Tower stood at 1,368 feet (417.0 meters), while the roof of the South Tower stood at 1,362 feet (415.0 meters). Also, unlike the South Tower, the North Tower had an antenna/spire, so it stood at a total height of 1,727 feet (526.3 meters). The Twin Towers were the tallest buildings in the world from the time of their completion in the early 1970s, until they were surpassed by Willis Tower (aka Sears Tower) in Chicago in 1974.
