The Great Schism (meaning split) took place in the year 1054 AD, although cultural differences started to emerge from as early as 800 AD.
The oriental orthodox, eastern orthodox and roman catholic churches all started when various apostles spread mainly the middle east and eastern Europe. Soon the churches started to split the oriental orthodox then eastern orthodox and catholics together. Its hard to say when oriental orthodox started because it consists of several apostolic churches in communion which each other all founded at different times by different apostles
Orthodox churches are much closer in belief to Catholics than to Protestants. The Eastern Orthodox Church broke off of the Catholic Church in 1054 A.D. and kept basically all the same beliefs except the supremacy of the pope. Protestants, however, broke during the Protestant Reformation, which can be considered to start around 1517. The Protestant split involved much deeper doctrinal changes that make Protestantism farther from Catholicism than Eastern Orthodoxy.
The Orthodox Church was founded by Jesus Himself in the year 33 AD, on the Day of Pentecost. According to Orthodox Christian beliefs, the Orthodox Church has always existed from the beginning of time (called the Church Triumphant) but the physical church on earth (called the Church Militant) was established in Jerusalem in 33 AD and continues to exist to this day without any changes to its dogmas and beliefs. From the Orthodox perspective, both the Orthodox and Catholics started at the same time, in the year 33 AD, when there was no such thing as Orthodox and Catholic, and there was only the universal Christian Church. So they both shared a common foundation for the first 1,000 years of their history. However, after that time, difference arose that led to the Great Schism of 1054 AD. This caused a split in the universal Church, which resulted in the formation of an Orthodox East and a Latin West. The Orthodox Church claims that the Latins (later known as Roman Catholics) split from the Body of the Church because of Papal claims of supremacy over the Church, and changes to the Nicene Creed (the filioque clause), which were not accepted by anyone else at that time.
Catholics did not start Israel.
No. For a start, just as in Christianity there are major differences between Catholics and Protestants, so, too, there is a major split in Islam, between Shia and Sunna. And just as in Christianity, there are smaller subdivisions as well. And of course, individuals may have beliefs that do not entirely agree with the doctrines they are taught.
Catholics didn't start Protestantism. Protestants started Protestantism and this began with Martin Luther in 1517.
