The only Canada cent that comes close to your description is the 2002 Golden Jubilee commemorative cent. While there is no date on the maple leaf side -- where you would expect it -- there is the 1952-2002 date below Elizabeth's neck on the obverse. These are not very rare -- worth about 10 cents for a nice uncirculated one.

What was the flag it was before the Canadian flag?

The present Canadian flag is the red-and-white 'Maple Leaf' flag. It has two large red borders on each side, with a red maple leaf on a white background in the centre. There have been a few flags used by Canada. The one used immediately prior to the 'Maple Leaf' was known as the 'Canadian Red Ensign.' The Red Ensign contained the British 'Union Jack' in its upper left portion, with the Canadian Coat of Arms on the right, on a red background. Some Canadian provinces fly a 'red ensign' that displays its provincial coat of arms.

What kind of wood are skateboards made of?

This is very good question. Usually the wooden decks are made out of maple, but story doesn't end there. The best wood material for decks is Canadian Rock Maple, but only few manufacturers make them. If the top layer of deck is stained in color you can be 90% sure sure, that it's regular maple, if maple at all, and the deck will wear out much faster then Canadian maple. I know that Element, Almost, Reinbe and Baker uses high quality Canadian maple, that will long last and provide much greater pop then usual maple or other wood.
