Helium was discovered in 1868 as a new spectral line in light from the sun by French astronomer Jules Janssen during a total solar eclipse in Guntur, India. In the same year, Norman Lockyer, an English Astronomer concluded that the new spectral line was caused by an element in the Sun unknown on Earth and named it Helium.
In 1882, Italian physicist Luigi Palmieri detected helium on Earth for the first time.
March 26, 1895 Sir William Ramsay, a Scottish chemist, isolated helium on Earth.
1868.
the one who discovered helium is Pierre jules Cesar or if you go on Google they'd say Pierre jansaan
In our sun.
Pierre Janssen discovered helium in 1868 during a solar eclipse while observing spectral lines in the sun's corona.
Pierre Janssen discovered the lines of helium in the spectra of the Sun on 18 August 1868 at Guntur (India).
Sir Norman Lockyer discovered helium in 1868 in the spectrum of the sun during a solar eclipse. He noticed a yellow line in the sun's spectrum that did not correspond to any known element at the time, leading to the discovery of the new element helium.
He - Helium
Sir William Ramsay discovered the periodic group of noble gases. That includes argon, neon, helium, krypton, xenon, radon, and ununoctium.
His most important discovery was that of the element thallium, which was previously unknown element with a bright green emission line in its spectrum. He also was the first person to discover helium.
The symbol of Helium is He. Helium's atomic number is 2.

The symbol for hydrogen is H, and the symbol for helium is He.
