Good question. I am a parent and I give my kids presents. I can only speak for my self, I think. The best thing to do is check the label. If it says Santa, great. My wife and I always label our presents as from us. If you want to be sure who the presents are from, tell your parents that you want them to label presents they are giving with their names and not write "From Santa". Then, any presents that says "From Santa" ... hmm
It has been a tradition to give presents and to open them Christmas Day. It is also in celebration of Jesus Christ's birth.
Families tend to gather for the Christmas evening meal and give the kids their presents. So they can go away, but mostly to their families.
