Any one who believes in Christ, is willing to forsake all of their sins and be ready to become a disciple of Christ. Baptising is symbolic of washing away your sins and forsaking them, and coming out of the water a clean and wholesome person ready to do the will of the Lord. To accept His will in all things.

They get baptised with water.

Different religions use different methods. The Catholic Church uses Holy Water which is water that has been blessed by a priest.

Some churches believe that a simple touching of water to the head or pouring water on the head is sufficient.

Other Churches believe that you must be totally submerged in water. ie river, baptismal tub, etc

The act of baptism is an outward showing or profession of ones faith. The person is showing others that through the symbalism of water, they are washing away their old sinful ways and starting anew or fresh.

Who baptized john the Baptist's mum?

John the baptist' mother was never baptised at all until her son John baptised Jesus Christ (the first person to be baptised), it was only then that people decided to come up and be baptised. It never says in the bible if John's mother was baptised or not but she probably was. People got baptised at a much older age back then compared to today's tradition of getting baptised between the age of 0 and 3)

Was John Baptized by Jesus?

Not really, Im a Protestant. The thing is that we dont baptise infants full stop. This is because infants dont know what theyre doing so youre just getting them wet. Jesus got baptised when he was a grown man so we baptise people when theyre already old enough to know what theyre doing, im 17 and just got baptised. And yes we baptise in water.
