I only had one Depo shot. I was due for another in early December 07 but decided not to get the shot when it was due after bleeding for four weeks in November on the shot. It is now March 08 and I am still waiting for my period to arrive. I called my doctor and he said that it can take several months to get your period again even after one shot. Everyone is different but I did not expect for it to take so long to start my period again after just one shot - but that's not a bad thing - the whole reason I tried Depo was to try to stop my period - which didn't work out well at first given I had a pretty regular four week period in the middle of the shot.
This isn't really an answers to your question but just another case of no periods after depo provera. My last shot was Feburary 2008, it should have worn off may 08... Its not Septermber 09... that's 16 months and I still have not seen my period... I had the shot 3 times.. Bad choice :S I don't want babies now, but maybe in my later years, I want my periods back :(

Yes. It takes a while for periods to restart after stopping depo provera.

There is no harm in missing a Depo Provera injection as long as you are OK with getting pregnant, or are using an alternative method. YOu can restart Depo at any time.
