Scientists generally accept that there are few possible causes for the end of the world. The only one that can be certified is the eventual expansion of the Sun into a red giant and the subsequent collapse into a dwarf star.
Scientists do not place any faith in "apocalypse" scenarios that have no basis in evidence or fact. Such things include the 2012 myth, among many others.

∙ 12y agoNo respectable Scientist would say when the world will end. They just don't know - no one but God knows. As very knowledgeable humans, their imaginations for varying scenarios describing the end of the world abound. Meteors, core cooling, weather, disease, sun cooling, various warfare, to name a few. But Scripture gives a clear scenario of events that will transpire in the future and last 3 1/2 years. It is in the Book of Revelation.
