No, the Aztecs did not settle in Arkansas. The Aztec civilization was based in central Mexico, primarily in the capital city of Tenochtitlan (present-day Mexico City). Arkansas was situated far north of the Aztec territories.
1200AD
No they settled in Mexico.
The Aztecs came to Mexico during the 13th Century. Which is about 700 years ago :)
The first Aztecs, known as the Mexica, migrated from the northern region of what is now Mexico, specifically from a place called Aztlán. This migration occurred in the 12th century, as they sought new lands to settle. After a long journey, they eventually arrived in central Mexico, where they established their capital, Tenochtitlán, on an island in Lake Texcoco. The Mexica became the dominant force in the region, forming the foundation of the Aztec Empire.
The ancestors of the Aztecs came across the Bering Strait and eventually traveled south to what is now Mexico. In about 1250 AD, they arrived in the Valley of Mexico. In about 1325 AD, they left and built a city they called Tenochtitlan, which is now known as Mexico City.
On March 13, 1325 when the original Mexicans, also known as Aztecs, founded the city of Tenochtitlan (today Mexico City).
The Aztecs settled in the area now covered by Mexico City in either 1325 or (more likely) 1345.
They arrived their because the Aztec Indians were walking to find their home where they were guided to by their gods. The Aztecs were to settle (according to the gods) where there was a prickly pear cactus, a eagle with a wiggling snake in their mouth. When the Aztecs arrived that is what they found. That is why they settled in that place. It was a lake called Texcoco found in Mexico. BTW! This was wrote by a eleven year old. You're welcome!
