I'm assuming you are talking about changing the oil in your car.
The old mantra is, change it every 3000 miles. This is if you are driving under severe conditions and/or driving an older car.
Severe driving is done by most people. It includes city driving, stopping and going a lot, accelerating quickly, etc.
If your car is burning oil rather quickly, you'll need an oil change sooner, as well as some kind of repair work.
If you are driving a newer car, 10 years or younger, and you aren't beating on it, you can push it to about 5,000 miles. Just remember though, that if you push it too far between oil changes, you risk the engine having more mechanical problems aka EXPENSIVE problems in the future.

An oil change is when you change the oil of your car. Once in a while, cars need to have an oil change because their oil get used too much and needs to be changed.
The oil filter is there to trap any tiny particles that are in the oil. You change it because it becomes dirty over time. Change the oil at every oil change.

HOW DO YOU CHANGE THE OIL??????? IS THAT THE QUESTION, HOW DO YOU CHANGE THE OIL????? What is this, a joke?????
Change the oil filter every time you change the oil.
The oil change light in your car is there to remind you to change your oil in a timely manner. if you do not reset your oil change light, it just wont remind you to change your oil. :)
I will change my oil from conventional oil to synthetic oil on my next oil change.
You will have dirty oil running through your engine until the light comes on again for an oil change.
No, they are not. If you ask for an oil change they will change the engine oil & filter. They will not change the transmission fluid unless you ask for it.
