No, they are not. If you ask for an oil change they will change the engine oil & filter. They will not change the transmission fluid unless you ask for it.

Why wont car go in to gear after changing transmission fluid?

If the transmission would not go into gear before changing the transmission fluid, then the fluid change was for naught. Hopefully you changed the filter in there, too. If the tranny was busted before the oil change, then simply changing the oil is not going to fix the problem.

How do you change the transmission fluid on a Honda 400ex quad?

On a 400ex the engine and transmission share the same oil. So when you change the oil in the engine you are changing the transmission oil as well. That is why you need an ATV or motorcycle oil designed for wet clutches.

How do you put gear oil in escort gt 5 speed?

this uses ford transmission fluid NOT gear oil in the manual transmission. Filler is on the top of the Transmission and is NOT meant to be changed for the life of the Car. I currently have several of these and even at 350,000 have not changed the fluid.

Is it necessary to change the filter everytime the fluid is changed?

The manual on my Ranger PU states that the filter must be changed every time the transmission fluid is changed. I always change my oil filter when changing oil, because if you don't, you leave 1 quart of dirty oil in the system. Filters are fairly inexpensive, so I would recommend putting in a new one with every fluid change.

Did Oil Change and now the vehicle will not go into reverse or drive oil when changed came out red can you help?

I am curious to know which oil you changed. Usually when one says oil change, they are referring to the engine oil. When referring to a transmission, one usually says they are doing a transmission fluid change. You mention the oil came out red. Red is the color of transmission fluid. I'm wondering if you drained the transmission fluid thinking you were draining the engine oil. If so, the transmission is empty and that would be the reason for no reverse or drive gears.
