"buy a new car." <-------- thats stupid... its a 12 dollar part from ur dealership. its probably just the rubber piece on top of the clutch that pushes in the clutch switch. these fall off all the time and people automatically replace the whole switch. hot glue a penny on the petal where it pushes in the clutch switch and it should start like a charm.
First make sure your car is off. Then climb under and and locate the clutch pedal assembly. Find the clutch bracket with a keyhole cut out on the top of it. You need to access the bolt on the underside of this bracket. Remove this and now you can replace the part.
It just cost me 760 to replace the whole compressor 300 for a rebuilt part and 300 for labour + I had to get a new belt I'm pretty sure u cAn just get the a/c clutch for half the price
