Yes, if there is Cash available on the account, then you would treat the ebt card like a debit card. If there is no cash in the account--then you will not be able to accept the ebt card for payment, as there would just be food benefits available, and that money can only be used for food products.

Usually the EBT card refills on the day that corresponds with the ending digit of your case number. If the ending digit was 2, your card would refill on the second of the month. If the number was 9, your card would refill on the ninth of the month. Weekends and weekdays do not matter.Some states ( such as Iowa ) use a different system however. They refill your card based off your last name. A-B issued on the 1st day of them month, ect. If you need more info on your area it is best to contact your local DHS office during business hours and speak with a representative.
