Check to see if the engine of the truck functions properly and has no damage. Check the brakes and check to see if any exhaust vents into the interior of the truck. Ensure all airbags and other safety features are enabled. Check to see if the truck is prone to tipping or rolling.

First, I would check the value of the truck on kbb.com. Then I would take photos of the truck and post them on craigslist.com. I may also check carmax.com and local car dealerships to see what they would offer me for the truck.

If a car is "totalled" then it means that the cost of repairing the vehicle makes no financial sense to spend money on it so the insurance company give cash for the vehicle.
