Hope is the word used when you have an expectation or desire. I hope it doesn't rain tomorrow. I hope I get a car for my birthday. I hope I meet a mllionaire. Do not confuse with 'wish' as this can also mean something you desire. I wish I had a dog. I wish you a Happy Birthday. I wish you wouldn't speak to me like that!
