Elizabeth's self examination begins in earnest when she reads the letter Darcy sends her, in which Darcy defends his actions toward Wickham and says why he wanted to separate Bingley from Jane Bennet.
There may have been other indications of self examination before this, but I cannot think of any off hand. In any event they were certainly not as vitally important to the novel as her reflections arising from Darcy's letter.
Elizabeth's self-examination in "Pride and Prejudice" begins after Mr. Darcy's first proposal, when she reflects on her own prejudices and the true nature of her feelings towards him. She continues to examine her own character and behavior throughout the novel, leading to personal growth and a deeper understanding of herself.

Many novels, such as "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen, start with a prologue that introduces the main characters or themes. Some movies, like "Star Wars: A New Hope," begin with a prologue that gives context to the story before the main plot starts.
Of course! And conversely, Native Americans and African Americans had and STILL HAVE prejudices toward other races. It is common and probably innate to be wary and feel prejudicial toward anything that is different. Learning about the commonalities and goodness in each other is where the wary can drop the the wall of prejudice and friendship can begin to grow.
