A:
Many Christians believe that Jesus will return before the end of time, and some even say his return is imminent. In fact, hundreds of prophecies have told us when he would return, and each one was wrong. In Mark's Gospel, Jesus assured his listeners that he would return on clouds of glory within the lifetimes of some of those listeners. Even earlier than Mark's Gospel, Paul was convinced that he would live to see the end of time, so much so that he said that Christians had little time remaining and if not already married should not do so.
This still had not happened by the time Matthew's Gospel was written in the 80s of the first century, so the wording of Mark's prophecy was changed to mean something different and it is emphasised that no one knows when he will return. Some see the Book of Revelation as contain a promise of those times, but this is for the distant future, so we will not know in our own lifetimes if Jesus will return. Perhaps it is not really important whether or not the promise of Jesus' return is ever kept.
Matthew 24:36 states, 'No-one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.' To me that is pretty clear that we are not supposed to know when. That it will happen is important not when it will happen. I respectfully disagree with the answer above. All of the chapter of Matthew deals with things that will happen (are happening) that mark the time of his second coming. The day and the hour are known only by the father, but we should know within a few years. Matthew 24:14 says when the gospel of the kingdom is preached in all the world for a witness to all nations. I believe that most that are alive today will see the second coming, probably between now and the end of 2012. I have not heard anyone else say it, I just see the world moving toward what The Bible says will be in the last days, as in the days of Noah. We have the ability now to spread the gospel throughout the world via the internet to all nations as referenced as the main sign given by Jesus above. There are many other things prophsied (told us by the Spirit of God) in the Bible, but these two are plenty for me to know that it is time to prepare the bride of Christ for His return.
Mout of Olives Zechariah 14:4
3 Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
The first mention of the return of Jesus is found in Mark chapter 13, in which Jesus assures the disciples that he will return during their lifetimes and apparently in Palestine. This event did not eventuate, but there have been thousands of subsequent prophecies of the return of Jesus - some in Israel, some in the United States and some with the place of Jesus' return unspecified.
So far, no promise of Jesus' imminent return has been true, so there is no reason to believe that anyone knows when and where Jesus will return, if indeed he returns at all.
We do not know
Never, there is no such thing.
No person knows the time Jesus will return again. It could be in 2018 or not Not sure if Christ Jesus will return in 2018.
