Mello captures Takada and basically strips her naked to see if any pieces of the Death Note were on her. Takada had a piece of paper that was from the Death Note, and took it out as her back was faced to Mello (It was in her Bra). After Mello saw everything was off, he drove away with Takada in a truck. Takada sits in the back of the truck,panicks, and decides to write his name down in the piece of paper from the notebook. He then dies.

∙ 12y agoHe kidnaps Takada and tells her to take her clothes off and put them in a box (to see if she hasn't any wires) and in her bra light gave her a piece of the deathnote to kill mello.So mello locks her in the back of a truck with a blanket and drives to aplace.. i think its a cathedral. Anyway she writes his name on the paper and he crashes the truck.

Why did Mello kidnap Takada?
Mello kidnapped Miss Takada because Near and Mello both compromised so Near would have Mello kidnap her because he new that Teru Mikami would need to kill her, confirming that Mikami was the third kira (hence the name "mikami" meaning third god) so that when Near and Light Yagami meet he would take the fake death note from Mikami (Mikami did not know the death note he had was a fake) and see that he killed Takada and that he did not write Light Yagami's name, exposing them both as kira. Near and Mello both new that this was an extremely dangerous move and that Mello would probably die, but mello went along with it anyway.

Ryuk stays Misa's shinigami until Mello kidnaps Sayu, then Light temporally returns one of his notebooks to Ryuk, sends it to the police, and when Soichiro dies, Light is again the owner of one of Ryuk's notebooks.
