How can school property be protected?

For the most part, shcool property has traditionally been moderately well protected. While some vandalism (primarily in the form of graffiti) might occur, schools are not typically big targets of opportunity for theft or destructive behavior. Those who traditionally commit such crimes want more than anything to get away from school and never return. In more recent times, cameras have been used to help deter crime (largely ineffective) and to record what crimes do occur (largely more effective). While the crimes recorded are not deterred or stopped, recordings make it clearer what happened, and aid in identifying perpetrators. The only more effective way to protect school property is, incidentaly the purpose of the school and the most effective deterrent in ending crime, education. There are very few crimes that correlate to a higer degree of education, and most of those are personal and financial crimes that do not typically occur in the school environment.

Is you or your landlord responsibility when someone vandalized the building?

In most states, the responsibility for vandalism falls on the tenant of a building if the persons who did the vandalism were guests of the tenant. If it can be proven in court that the tenant had no knowledge of the vandalism and does not know who the criminals are, the landlord's insurance should pay for the damage.
