Why cant fosil fuels be replaced in a persons lifetime?

fossil fuels are a non-renewable resource meaning once it is gone it's gone. fossil fuels come from dinosaurs fossils and those went extinct a million years ago so that is why they can't be "replaced".

Why are nonrenewable resources a problem?

Non-renewable resources can be renewed but not on a human time scale that is practical it takes hundreds of thousands of years until these fuels would reproduced. So, when we run out the are gone. . . Which means that our economy that is based on it would slow or screech to a stop when we run out.

What are the disadvantages of using petroleum?

There are a couple of disadvantages of Petroleum usage.First of all, as Humans, we should plan on the Earth lasting us for Millions of years in the future. It is our only home that we have that is able to support life as we know it. Other planets in our solar system may support Human life, but not like Earth. People are predicting not only catastrophic environmental changes in the next generation or so, but essentially permanently using up the World's total oil reserves in the next couple of generations. What are we going to leave our grandchildren? Our great grandchildren?Burning Petroleum essentially means adding CO2 to the atmosphereThere is a lot of controversy about Greenhouse Gasses... but for the first time in the evolution of Humans, we can now make measurable changes in the Carbon Dioxide levels in the entire atmosphere of the earth. Now, the percentage is going from 0.03% to 0.04% or so, a 33% increase, but they are still small amounts. We'll likely run out of fossil fuels before we reach toxic levels of Carbon Dioxide in the atmosphere around 2%. But, should that be our goal?Information does, however, indicate that with the increasing CO2 levels, we are making permanent changes in our environment, changes that we have difficulty predicting the full ramifications of.Plastics, and many other things are made out of Petroleum Oils. Once it is gone, they will be gone for good. There are suggestions to fuel our appetite for Petroleum Fuels we should try sequestering Carbon Dioxide with Limestone, or other ways to re-inject it into the earth. Carbon Dioxide is essentially an ACID. I'm not sure I'm ready to start filling the earth under my home with ACIDS.Petroleum Fuels are dangerous to handle.Petroleum fuels produce some of the most noxious pollutantsAs far as socio-economic disadvantages, we are sending a LOT of US Money, labor, etc overseas to feed this need for oil. This money would be much better spent domestically. And, a huge part of our trade deficit boils down to petroleum. We've found a method to put ourselves at the mercy of people who don't like us.There are few monarchies left in the world. Right in the center of the richest oil in the world lies the most powerful Monarchy in the world. And, we just let them do whatever they want. Now, cutting global oil use to a fraction would devastate the Middle East... but, perhaps they need to look at changing their own economies too.

Why can't humans always use fossils fuels for energy?

Fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) are the cause of global warming, a serious threat to life on this planet. Humans want to improve the environment and leave a better future for later generations, so we are moving swiftly to renewable energy like solar wind and water power.

Who invented Goo Gone?

When fossil fuels are depleted are they gone forever?

no but they take millions of years to form

When fossil fuels are depleted they are essentially gone?

Yes, this is correct. There is only a limited amount of fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) in the world. They are not renewable, so they can only be used once, unlike renewable energy (solar, wind, hydro, tidal and wave, geothermal among others).

Explain why fossil fuels are nonrenewable resources.?

No new fossils to form new fuels. What there is is what there is- when it is gone, it is gone.

Are fossil fuels renewable non renewable or inexhaustible?

Fossil fuels are non-renewable. Once we've burnt them, they're gone!

What will happen if fossil fuels were gone?

you will use a different energy

Why does it matter if you burn fossil fuels?

When we burn fossil fuels, that fossil fuel is gone. *POOF!* And it'll take millions of years for the nonrenewable resource to form again. Therefore we need to conserve fossil fuels as much as possible.

Why is there a fossil fuels?

There are fossil fuels because things (like plants and animals) died hundreds of millions of years ago. Most Fossil fuels are non- renewable. Meaning they will not replenish untill we are dead and gone for hundreds of millions of years.

Why are we unable to use fossil fuels forever?

They won't last forever. Once gone they are gone and they pollute the air.

Why are fossil fuels described as fossils?

Because fossil fuels are fossils is the simple answer. Fossil fuels are just large collections of tiny fossils which have undergone a slightly different process which allows them to be flammable.

What are resources that are nonrenewable?

They can not be replenished .Once they are gone they are gone for good. Examples: oil, fossil fuels , and you should get the idea by now.
