Each breath should take about 1 second.
Oral Airways do not change the ratio - 30:2. Have you even taken an EMT class?
Oral Airways are used to keep the tounge from blocking the pharynx. You still need to maintain Head Tilt-Chin Lift, or Jaw Thrust even with an Oral Airway in place.
Oral Airways cannot be used on paitients with a gag reflex.
The only change to the compression ventilation ratio would come AFTER a paramedic inserted an advanced airway into the Trachea. At that point compressions don't stop and you start ventilating with a BVM at 6-8 seconds.
For adult, there is no more artificial respiration for the lay person. If an adult is not breathing, go directly to CPR. For an Infant and Child, give 1 breath (artificial respiration) every 3 seconds.
2 full breaths for an adult in an airway.
until he/she starts breathing
You are correct; 30 chest compressions and 2 rescue breaths.
How do you give the breaths properly?
1 breath every 3 seconds
Once no breathing is confirmed, do not wait at all to give breaths.
For every 30 compressions, you give 2 rescue breaths.
Adult, Child, Infant 1-rescuer CPR is 30 Compressions : 2 Breaths.
One rescuer will give 30 compressions and the other rescuer will give 2 breaths. When the rescuer giving compressions gets tires and wants to change, on the last compression instead of saying 30 he/she says change. The 2 breaths are given, the rescuers stay on the same side of the patient, and move positions for the change. CPR then continues with the 30 compressions, then 2 breaths repeated until the next change is called for.

1 breath every 5 seconds for an adult.
As you give the breaths, look down the long axis of the body to see the chest rise as you give the breath.
When you open the airway, don't pinch the nose. Check for breathing and signs of life. If no breathing or signs of life, then pinch the nose and give 2 breaths. Only pinch the nose while giving breaths.
The current child CPR is cycles of 30 compressions to 2 breaths.
