both u should get chewing sticks for your hamster then he/she might stop or try um.. card board or some type of thing from the pet store for him/her to chew on.
Hamsters like to chew on the bars of their cage, if they discover a place where they can get out by doing this, they will escape. Perhaps the actual door of it's cage isn't very secure.

All rodents are a host for the fleas. In the medieval times rodents carried fleas infectin people with the black plague. However hamsters are most likely to not to catch fleas because their are mostly kept in houses in cages.
