When hooking up your negative terminal to the battery you get a spark.is this normal?

A very light spark is normal as there is power going to the clock. When I say tiny, I mean tiny. A spark so tiny it is hard to even see. If you are seeing a spark of any size then something is on pulling power from the battery. Make sure the doors are shut, trunk is shut, ignition is off. If you have an under hood light remove the bulb. You should see no spark or one that is tiny.
