When i open up my sims 3 game launcher everything seems normal but then when i press the play button the screen goes black for a few seconds and then returns to my desktop.. can anyone help.. Thanks?

This may be occur because your Graphics card is not supported or may be any resolution problem.
How do you run the Sims 3 without the launcher -?
Go into C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin and then find and click the TS3.exe and your game will run for easier access, I recomend that you create a short cut on the desktop for TS3.exe in only seconds your game will open
