adjust the linkage on the trans
neutral safety switch on top of steering column under dash.
Usually on steering column lower if column shift, next to floor shift (remove panels) if floor shift or at transmission integrated with reverse light switch
Check the steering column. There is a switch mounted to the column that controls the backup lights and the neutral safety switch.
Bottom of steering column, inside cab, at the firewall, topside of column.
maybe in the steering column
On top of lower portion of steering column.
On my 1990 Ford E150 4.9L I6, the neutral switch is below the steering wheel, half way down the steering column, on the top side of the steering column. Just keep unscrewing things until you can access the switch, then remove the switch.
its on the steering column just above the firewall
To override a neutral safety switch, locate it (it should be at the base of the steering column) and remove the green and brown wire. Connecting these two wires together will bypass the safety switch and your reverse lights will turn on.
Yes you could but it has a neutral safety switch for a reason.
the neutral safety switch is located in the steering column, not on the trans.it is part of the switch that the main plug on the column plugs into.
you dont HAVE to remove it but it does make it easier. removing the column it not very difficult.
